I just read this and couldn't believe my eyes. Danny Williams has weighed in at only 16st 4lbs [228lbs] for his upcoming fight against Scott Gammer for the British heavyweight title. If only he could have been this dedicated for every fight.
Danny Williams weighs in at 228lbs

Yes, apparantly, Danny has weighed in at 16st and 4 lbs which is 228lbs. I find it difficult to believe that Danny has lost over 39lbs since his last fight (where he weighed in at 267lbs) in just almost 3 months. I suspect it might be a typo though.
Still, even if Danny is 19st and 4lbs (which I think is accurate) - 270lbs - I think he'll still beat Gammer.
Here is the weigh-in report/article from the BBC.
Sounds a little contradictory and inaccurate here though;
"That is a full four stones lighter than when he met Matt Skelton last July, and five pounds less than for a career-best win over Mike Tyson in the USA in 2004"
(a) Against Skelton he was 288lbs. Now if Danny was over 4stone lighter (1 stone = 14lbs), that would make Danny some 56lbs+ lighter than last time out. Fair enough, I'm with the article so far.
(b) However, it then goes on to say "....[which is] 5lbs less than against Tyson"
- Danny weighed in at 265lbs against Tyson so 5lbs lighter would make him 260lbs. So how is 260lbs the same as 228lbs (a full 32lb difference)? Obviously there has been a misprint or some confusion somewhere.
Still, Danny KO Gammer. -
That has got to be a TYPO... If it were true ..I am sure I would have heard about Kipling Cakes LTD. going under by now...Comment

I too love Danny, and this is great ****ing news. I don't think it is a typo, Gammer's trainer was saying that he's come in at 17 stone ish cos he expected Danny to be heavier.
I really, really, really hope Danny wins this!Comment
