WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev will make his first mandatory title defence in Stuttgart on April 14. The Porsche-Arena has been unveiled as the venue for his clash with mandatory challenger Ruslan Chagaev. "I´m looking forward to Stuttgart," said the Russian Giant (46-0, 34 KOs). "It´s good to fight in Germany again after two successful trips to Switzerland and America." Valuev had last stopped Jameel McCline (TKO 3) and Monte Barrett (TKO 11) in Basle and Chicago. [details]

I pray that this Chagaev guy whom I have never seen in action has what it takes to at least UD that sluggish piece of ****............If not KO him which would be great.I have read about Chagaev a bit but don't know a whole lot about him.....anyone seen him fight? Can he beat Valuev? -
I saw him fight and he has 0.5% chance of winning, which is exactly the chance of Valuev falling down and breaking his ankle during his walk-out.I pray that this Chagaev guy whom I have never seen in action has what it takes to at least UD that sluggish piece of ****............If not KO him which would be great.I have read about Chagaev a bit but don't know a whole lot about him.....anyone seen him fight? Can he beat Valuev?Comment

I don't think there is a challenger out there who could present a real problem for Valuev except Vitali, Wlad, and Peter. I think Valuev would give Wlad a lot of trouble though, Wlad's newfound tactic of tying opponents up will not work very well on a 7' 325lb guy.Comment

Hmmm.......I think Briggs could give him big trouble too. Also Brewster,Rahman and even Oleg......anyone who has power can take this guy under the right circumstances.Did you see that shots Barret put on him?I mean if Barret could punch he would have taken Valuevs head off. Also he does not seem to have that much power given his size.I don't know I am just a hater....he is like a circus freak invading Boxing.Comment

Well, it's clear by now that Valuev cannot be knocked out or down with one punch, we can all agree on that, I think. Briggs has the power but he doesn't have the work rate to get to Valuev, I think Valuev wins over Briggs TKO8. Brewster possibly, but we have to see what's left of him first. Besides, Brewster won most of his fights by taking an incredible amount of punishment, I don't think he can do this for much longer. Rahman is pure **** IMO, who lives off unprepared Lewis. Aside from that one punch, he hasn't done anything in his career to prove otherwise. Oleg doesn't have enough power to hurt Valuev IMO and Valuev's stamina would win that one.Hmmm.......I think Briggs could give him big trouble too. Also Brewster,Rahman and even Oleg......anyone who has power can take this guy under the right circumstances.Did you see that shots Barret put on him?I mean if Barret could punch he would have taken Valuevs head off. Also he does not seem to have that much power given his size.I don't know I am just a hater....he is like a circus freak invading Boxing.
As for Barrett, he hit him with flash shots and Valuev didn't show the he even felt them, he just slowed down for about 30 seconds.
I think it'll take a power puncher with a very good speed to defeat Valuev and Peter and Wlad are the only two out there that I can think of. Vitali is not fast but he is very powerful and his style makes his opponents work 10 times harder and wear out in 7-8 rounds.
I didn't like Valuev at first either, but he earned my respect by working harder than 99% of todays HW, progressing with every fight, and not being an *******.Comment

Fair enough......but I do think if he was hit with one solid punch from any of the guys I mentioned he could be put on his ass......Barrett can't punch and while he did little damamge he showed that he is wide open fro haymakers.Well, it's clear by now that Valuev cannot be knocked out or down with one punch, we can all agree on that, I think. I guess only time will show, we'll never know for sure until we see it. Those haymakers and the way Valuev shook them off were kind of fun to watch though.Comment

Yeah he did walk right through them for the most part.I actually thought MCline stood a chance too when I was first watching that fight but then what happened ruined that idea.......should'nt have been a TKO either IMO.Comment
