Cunningham Wants Wlodarczyk, But Not in Poland

PHILADELPHIA—No. 3-ranked International Boxing Federation cruiserweight contender Steve “USS” Cunningham said Poland should be removed from consideration to host his IBF-ordered rematch with Krzysztof Wlodarczyk in favor of a country with a proven track record of staging fair contests.

Given the fishy circumstances of the first fight, I don't blame Cunningham for wanting a level playing field. Put that fight in America, and Cunningham gets the belt.

Doesn't change the fact that Cunningham completely bottled it against a more limited (though harder hitting) opponent.

Based on scores like that, some judge deserves to be suspended, or the fight ruled a no-contest. Maybe it's the US judge who was full of **** - I don't know, I never saw a video of it, but I have a lot of trouble with someone scoring 11 rounds for Cunningham and someone else having him only 4...

I watched it. It was the US judge who deserved a suspension. A few people had Cunningham winning, but not by much. There can be no arguments with the other judges. They seemed to score it pretty much correctly. A lot of rounds were difficult to score.

it would be wonderful, with all the resources people have around here, if someone could find somewhere or someway for this fight to be viewed....

ive been wanting to watch it ever since it happened, hellyou can barely find a respectable online account of it.... its almost as if the media wasnt allowed and it never actually happened....

the fact that the fight was in poland and you cant get a hold of the damn video to save your life is indicative of the poles knowing they robbed cunnigham, holding or not, no reason people shouldnty be able to at least get a clip of a championship fight.

If that's the case, the US judge should be interviewed and told to explain himself watching a replay. 11 rounds to 1 - that's too wide to get off with "he won a bunch of close rounds" unless he has legitimate reasoning...
