yes i do realize this, but did you read the rest of my response, it wasn't directed at you, i was agreeing with you. i put that my response was directed at the floyd detractors, and i was trying to put some humor into it. don't take the wrong way, it wasn't directed at you. i agree with what you were commenting on.

So, I understand the comparison to Ali's trash talk and any other fighter who does it. The difference has been pointed out, though, that Ali was a very charismatic, intelligent speaker who could make you listen and have something worthwhile to say. He would say negative things about an opponent, but he was much funnier when he made jokes- because speaking was something he excelled at. Boxers today, like Floyd, aren't the best orators. They stutter, or repeat themselves, or just generally resort to petty insults to sell a fight. It's a bit of a stretch from the creative barbs Muhammad used to fling at his opponents.

Yeah I guess a lot has happened since then. Mayweather has lured ODH out of what looked like retirement while Margarito is dealing with the young and rising talent in his division.
man please, antonio had no choice but to face williams or he would have lost his precious little title. he did not want to face margarito nor did bob arum want him to face paul. so, when floyd takes the bigger fight with baldomir, a man who had a great year, he is wrong? i don't think so. he is smart. carlos defeated zab and gatti, whether you agree they were any good at those points in their careers is on you, but to many fans, carlos was the cinderella man, and floyd capitalized on this. nobody really wanted him to face margarito. tony needs to fight the man who has been calling him out, because floyd is on a much higher planefield. maybe if tony defeats paul and then fights cotto and defeats him, then his name will rise and he can call out floyd with justified reasoning. until then, shut the hell up tony. and you too shut the hell up kid achi...oh forget how to spell your name, it's not important anyway.

so, you're pretty much saying that since ali could deliver a speech well and insult his opponents well, and floyd stutters or repeats his words, that ali was justified for what he did? am i right? uh, okay, talk about a double standard, which many of you guys on this particular thread seem to be putting your posts. delivering a speech without stuttering does not make the speech morally right. i mean, hitler was very well spoken, but the substance of his speeches was evil, conniving, and unethical. i have never once heard floyd call his opponents ugly or a monkey. i have heard him claim he didn't respect their fight game and how he didn't appreciate their accomplishments, i'm sure he was selling the fight as well as making himself look more unbeatable(which he backed up in the ring, since he hasn't lost in his career). ali was very funny and witty with his jokes, but even though he was funny, didn't make his comedy right. yet, he is a revered man in history isn't he? i'm sure for his courage to stand up for his rights, but also for his comedy in the sport of boxing. floyd isn't ali obviously, he's floyd mayweather, he's his own man, and his accomplishments will be remembered more than his speeches and insults of otehr fighters, because we can agree to disagree all we want to, but there's no denying that this man, floyd mayweather jr, is truly an amazing boxer and has been the best boxer in any weight class p4p for years now. he is truly an artist in the ring, with his craft and love for the sport.
