What got u into this Glorious sport?

Rocky and Sugar Ray Leonard. Plus my uncles were big boxing fans so they always would encourage me to punch their hands and call me 'Champ' as a toddler, so I naturally drifted to the sport. When my interest started waning a bit as I got older, Tyson helped pull me back into it. Now I'm as hardcore as ever.

I've been into the sport for a long time, it was like instant machismo that my favorite interest was boxing. I've admired it since early childhood, but didn't get serious into it until 13 or 14. I guess I saw a Muhammad Ali marathon in October of 2002 or 03 and from there was instantly hooked. Then I read Hurricane Carter's 13th round, which was beneficial becuz at that time in my life I was into radical politics so it helped create a bridge. From there, I became a voracious student of the sport, learning every tidbit possible about the sport. In a month, I became an expert. My life quickly transformed into a center of boxing. I started going to the gym, which I also became addicted to. In time, my life found new meaning through boxing. Now I'm a card-carrying Boxing Anonymous addict.

that was the book that rubin had written during his time in jail for murder.
that was some book not so much a boxing book but an indept analysis into the psyche of the mentally of what kind of will a man must have to be a champion.
an absolutley ****ing amazing book my friend!
and if you had a copy i just hope that you kept it.
my copy cost me £130 pounds eight years ago so it must be worth much more now.

Yeah, I'm a cashier at Wendy's on Main Street in Poughkeepsie. I also work the grill sometimes. Here's my advice, be a professional in something else, get a degree in medical or teaching, and write on the side. Writing is a great accessory to a regular life. You're a nice guy, and we could use more of those.

It's alot of hard work, get that straight. It's a fun job, but it's still a job. Doug Fischer is one of the hardest working people in the business, and he drives a hoopty. If you want to do it, go ahead. But you won't get rich by any stretch of imagination.

yeah easy mistake mate i know that was the book you where on about it's an amazing read.
i really cant get enough of rubin's stuff the man is a legend!

Sometimes i read **** in magazines and just think thats horse ****! Plenty peeps could do a better job such as urself, so i guess its about luck aswell
