Here is an article I came across. Read it.
By Paul Upham: Promoter Gary Shaw believes he has the best flyweight in the world in Vic “Raging Bull” Darchinyan and wants nothing more than to make world title unification bouts so the hard-hitting Armenian can prove it. While 31 year-old Darchinyan currently holds the IBF and IBO world titles, Shaw says the other belt holders simply want nothing to do with him.

While 31 year-old Darchinyan currently holds the IBF and IBO world titles, Shaw says the other belt holders simply want nothing to do with him.
“They just don’t want to fight Vic,” he said. “I offered very, very good money to (WBO champion Omer) Narvaez. I flew to Argentina to close the deal. The same thing with (WBA champion Lorenzo) Parra. Neither one want to fight him. It is not a money issue. If they are saying they want to fight, then tell them to make a conference call with reporters on and we will negotiate in the open. I’ll prove to you they don’t want to get into the ring and unify these titles.
“I flew at the cost of $30,000 down to Argentina to make the Narvaez fight. I was promised that it would be made and they never made it. I tried to make the Parra fight for him, they have no interest in fighting him either, so anybody that is telling you anything different is an absolute liar.”
Long reigning WBC world champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam 64-2 (33) has never fought in the USA and while Darchinyan 27-0 (21) would probably take the fight in Thailand, Shaw asks why he should have to?
“Let him come out of Thailand,” he said. “Let him fight somewhere else. We want to fight in a neutral country. I know one thing. They don’t have the money in Thailand to pay us. But we have the money in the USA to pay them.”
Darchinyan has a dream of becoming undisputed flyweight world champion, but is frustrated that he can’t get the fights he wants, especially with Wonjongkam who has made sixteen successful title defences.
“WBC champion Wonjongkam just likes sitting in Thailand and making defences against guys who have more losses than wins,” he said. “I am not sure that he is like a real champion. He beat Hussein Hussein and after that I challenge him but we never get any comments back.”
While he has now moved up to junior bantamweight, the one fight that Darchinyan has craved the most over the last two years is with exciting 27 year-old Mexican star Jorge Arce 46-3-1 (35), who is promoted by Top Rank.
“Vic has always wanted to fight Jorge Arce,” said Shaw, “but he walks around with a lollypop because he always fights children. If he wants to trade his lollypop in for a cigar and fight a real fighter, then Jorge Arce is invited into the ring with Vic Darchinyan. If Vic can’t get that fight, then he has asked me to get him the winner of Rafael Marquez and Israel Vazquez, two divisions higher.”
“I have challenged Jorge Arce many times,” said Darchinyan. “I went to Mexico and challenged him after his fight. He is saying that he is going to fight me. Well, come on. Make this fight happen. My promoter Gary Shaw has tried his best to make this fight and they are still running. I hope in the future, maybe this year, that he will fight me.”
Darchinyan defends his titles against 32 year-old Mexican Victor Burgos on March 3 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California in the main support to Israel Vazquez-Rafael Marquez on Showtime Championship Boxing. But he is concerned that when Arce sees what he will do to Burgos, maybe he will never want the fight.
“Arce looks like a very easy fighter and I can hurt him very easily too,” said Darchinyan. “I would just love fighting him for the entire world to see. And when I am fighting Victor Burgos who beat Arce, he will be slaughtered. I am very confident. He will lose this fight when I knock him out. Arce will watch this fight and if he has balls, he will fight me. But after the way I beat Victor Burgos, I’m not sure that Arce will ever fight me.”
