That first punch should have been counted as a knockdown because Dokes would have been knocked down if it wasn't for the ropes. That left hook following it was enough for the referee to stop the fight. Irresponsible refereeing.

It's a lot like Tua vs Ruiz, don't you think. One punch from hell knocks him about, and is saved by the ropes, then the final punch that nearly took the head off.

how far away was the referee before the first knockdown? looks like he went to take a piss and ran back into the ring...

dokes looked like he got shot but i agree he took unnecessary punches.

That second punch was unnecessary, let alone the third one. Under the rules the first uppercut was a knockdown.

Perhaps becuase he was in over his head and was too young to ref a fight like this?
