Well tell your boy to make a name for himself first before he cries for the top dog dude. Nobody in U.S. knows who Miranda is. If he is big enough for Taylor then he'll get his shot.

If your insinuating that Taylor is afraid of Miranda then you have to be worst than crazy. . . . must be a lunatic. The guy fought the longest reigning Undisputed Middle Weight Champ 2 consecuttive times then went on to fight Winky next . . . how the hell would he be afraid to fight Miranda? What's so especial about your boy? Nadda!

      Yes.

That was a pretty ****** comment.

Everyone is of course entitled to their opinion....yours just happens to be ******ed.

Pantera wont get past Green. Much less be around to get his teeth kicked out by Taylor.

      Green - Taylor anyone?

Middleweight champion Jermain Taylor and Sergio Mora, the popular winner of "The Contender" first season, have been talking about fighting each other since June, just a couple of weeks after Taylor's draw with Winky Wright.

Now, they finally have agreed to terms for a fight that obviously should be dubbed "The Champion vs. The Contender."

Depending on the site -- likely Las Vegas or Miami -- Taylor and Mora will meet May 19 or June 2 on HBO, not on pay-per-view as had once been discussed.

"We're just playing with the date and the venue, but the deal is done. It's not signed, but the deal is made," Contender promoter Jeff Wald told ESPN.com. "It's going to be a terrific fight. Sergio wanted the fight, and so did Jermain. I think their styles will make for a great action fight."

Taylor was slated to make his next defense April 21, but promoter Lou DiBella, with HBO's blessing, moved off the date because of issues with site availability and because he didn't want to get in the way of the May 5 Oscar De La Hoya-Floyd Mayweather Jr. HBO PPV freight train.

"We're moving to after De La Hoya-Mayweather," DiBella said. "We'll have more time to promote it, and we won't be swallowed up by the huge fight."

Taylor (26-0-1, 17 KOs) is coming off a lopsided decision against Kassim Ouma in December. Mora (19-0, 4 KOs) hasn't fought since winning a 10-round decision against Eric Regan in August.

Taylor and Mora are familiar with each other. Taylor won 12-3 in the 156-pound division at the 2000 U.S. Olympic trials.

Damn mora's really gonna go for it I thought he wasnt serious at first.

yeah!!!! can't wait for this one!!!

really though, what's the point of this contest? Mora who? I'm starting to think that 'The Contender' series was more of a bad thing for boxing than anything good.

I mean, look at this recent example of the fighter Norberto Bravo from the lastest Contender extravaganza... got dominated in a single round by Andre Berto last weekend on HBO. I mean, this is a guy that was a semi-finalist on the show, correct?

Now, it's a given that Berto is just that good, but come on... who really thinks ANY of the "contender" fighters can become anything in the real top ranks of the sport?

The problem with that is that the people that never watch boxing and picked up watching 'the contender' are looking at these guys like they're "somebodies", while the TRUE champions of today (the Marquez brothers, the Vazquez's, the Arce's, etc) get the complete shaft from the viewing public. These shows (contender) are "well dramatized" to the point where they make us care about these fighters (through family storylines, etc) whether the fighters have actual 'talent' or not. It's a travesty IMO.

Boxing should showcase more of the 'real' contenders in the sport on ESPN. Do an inside special on their training, etc. Not trying to bring up illusions about unknown fighters.

Bottomline is.. who has Sergio Mora fought to earn this shot?? Peter Manfredo Jr?? How bout a fight with Quartey or Pavlik?

Seriously, you, Sergio Mora, with 19 fights!! not even wins, but fights total!! get a title shot with the champ Jermain Taylor??

You've never fought a guy with a winning record of more than 28 fights and you're facing the #1 guy in the division?

It's kinda sickening when you actually think about it.

You talk as if Taylor has fought a "string" of easy opponents recently...

              Hopkins x2, Winky...

when Ouma is considered a step down from your previous opposition...I think you're fighting pretty good fighters...

This Mora bandwagon is coming to an end. I look forward to seeing RunWithKnives eat some humble pie. Huge mismatch.

if mora had a chin, he'd have a chance in this fight. taylor will probably stop him but he won't look good doing it. these "easy" fights are exposing taylor's weaknesses, it's too bad mora is a club fighter version of calzaghe. his fast hands on the inside will give taylor problems, taylor is a great athlete but not a great boxer - he can't fight on the inside and is still very raw in terms of skills.

when pavlik gets into his prime, he'll beat taylor. green also
