These 2 boys better take it easy. This is queensbury, not UFC. But DLH dont need to foul him to defeat him. And we dont want no point deductions or disqualifications here.Last edited by hugh grant; 02-23-2007, 04:54 PM.Comment

pbf is in for the toughest fight of his life. i don't but the fouls ****, i think oscar's just talking trash, but dlh has been in with a stronger guy with faster hands than pbf - sugar shane mosley and those fights were close. i don't see floyd knocking out an old oscar, he doesn't hit as hard as mosley. dlh has a great chin, it took a natural 175 pounder fighting at 160 to stop oscar also pernell whitaker ( who's style floyd copies ) fought a prime dlh and LOST. pbf will really have to work to squeak out a split decision against dlh.Comment

but i see a few imprecisions
1) a natural 175 pounder does not fight at 160 until age 41, makinga catch weight of 157 (against dlh) at 38 or something like that
2) mayweather does not copy his style from pea
3) a past his best whitaker fought a prime oscar (and "LOST" does not tell the whole story). now a pst his best oscar is fighting a prime (or almost prime) mayweatherComment

yeah, i think whitaker would have won that fight if he were prime, or at least didn't spend all night partying. but against pbf oscar is the naturally bigger, stronger guy with good skills - that's bad news for pbf. a good little man beats a bigger man with no skills, but oscar is a very good boxer. dlh is past prime but his power and technique are still therei agree on the toughest fight part

and i think hopkins didn't look good in his last fights at 160 because of weight drain, even in the fight against dlh in the early rounds it was all oscar. he should have moved up to 175 sooner, and hops started as a pro at 175 - he's a natural 175Comment

you see but as good as a boxer that oscar is and he is a great boxer to say the least, he is not smarter in the ring than floyd and that is where it counts, and that is going to win floyd the fight. floyd is a smarter fighter when it comes to positioning his body to land the cleaner, effective shots, while still being defensive, which is why his punch output is usually small but accurate. floyd is very tactical, and he has fast upper body movement as well as fantastic footwork. he spends so many hours in the gym getting this perfected so it comes natural to him. oscar is a great boxer but imo his upperbody movement is slower than floyd's as well as his footwork. floyd reads his opponent so well and with oscar it isn't hard to read him, but who knows how oscar will come in fighting on may 5th? i think that floyd is going to show oscar something that oscar has never really seen before, in an entirely different gameplan. i see floyd throwing oscar off by changing his stance a lot in the fight which he does well, seeing as though he boxes from the southpaw stance well. that's how he will negate oscar's power punches and in turn throw some pretty effective shots. i'm not saying that oscra won't land but with floyd doing this, his punches won't hurt floyd, but floyd will hurt oscar in my opinion. and when i comment that oscar won't hurt floyd i don't mean that he cannot hurt floyd because yes he can very bad, but floyd's defense will minimize the effect that oscar's punches will have on him. oscar can cut the ring off very well, but you guys have to remember something, floyd knows it's a smaller ring and i'm sure he will train very hard in smaller rings and spar with jr. middleweights and possibly even middleweights to prepare for oscar. floyd is no dumby, and neither is roger. floyd picks off his opponents best when he frustrates them and he will frustrate oscar imo, but we'll see.yeah, i think whitaker would have won that fight if he were prime, or at least didn't spend all night partying. but against pbf oscar is the naturally bigger, stronger guy with good skills - that's bad news for pbf. a good little man beats a bigger man with no skills, but oscar is a very good boxer. dlh is past prime but his power and technique are still there

oscar has the power to knock out floyd? yes he does, but floyd also has the power to knock out oscar, even with his brittle hands, because speed is power, and although floyd's speed may not be like it was a 130 and 135 or even 140, the extra weight will have an effect on oscar when floyd hits him. he can catch oscar in his nose with a quick right lead or just a right hand, and oscar could be down for the count, and not because the shot was very powerful, because it was very fast and precise, and not saying that oscar won't recover, but after he does get up and it still a little dazed floyd takes advantage and closes out the show and oscar, because he won't fully recover, will be forced to either fall again or quit. floyd can catch oscar with a nice uppercut which he usually doesn't throw too often but when he does, it's with authority, trust me. oscar's left hook is a killer, but floyd's combos can kill you as well. it will be a fight for the ages but i see floyd punishing oscra de la hoya like i've been commenting and i see floyd either knocking him out late or winning a ud over him. oscar will not defeat floyd mayweather come may 5th, mark my words.Comment

dlh will not go out of his way to fight dirty. its part of the mental warfare designed to get your opponent to prepare for that type of fight and take time away from him preparing for the actual game plan you will be using. it seldom works but every little bit helps at this level of competition. anyone who thinks floyd can ko oscar is really letting his heart dictate reason rather than his mind. and gentlemen its a waste of time to challenge joys boys to put their money where their mouth is. if they were smart enough to make the kinds of sums your throwing at them they would not be betting floyd can ko oscar.Comment
