He just won over Hawkings with 96-94 on two scorecards. The same Hawkings who lost to Peter 99-90 and was knocked out by Maskaev a long time ago. Is Tua ever going to recover from two years of inactivity? I mean, it's not like he was in a body cast or anything. What do you think?
What's wrong with Tua?

He is just so out of shape and doesn't want to commit to doing more than he wants.
Basically he can beat C level guys by throwing single shots at a time in close fights.
OR
He can be destructive and blow these guys out in a matter of rounds...
he is simply more comfortable and out of shape to only do the first...he just doesn't throw punches anymore and only looks for one big shot...his weight doesn't help either...I don't think he trains hard before fights...seems like he trains 2wice a week or something...light training at thatComment

Overweight, inactivity, unmotivated, and in his 30's.
To sum it up, PAST HIS PRIME.
I think the IKE fight took something out of him. After that fight he didn't seem exactly the same. His battle with his weight after that fight says something.
It's a shame, one fight in boxing can be the end of what you once were.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 02-23-2007, 12:47 AM.Comment
