I keep thinking that if DLH wanted to make 147 he could quite easily. My mate is 5ft 9in and weighs 142-148 and he doesnt train and eats what he wants, so i think he could.

Oscar will knock Ricky Hatton out. Oscar might not be as fast as he once was, but he still has the power. I was even surprised that he knocked Mayorga down with just one punch that early.
DLH still can knock you out if he hits you clean. But against the likes of PBF he wont be landing as clean against him i would imagine. But no doubt he could knock the pretty one out, no problem.

Your friend is not Oscar De La Hoya. Every person is different.

Oscar says he was less than 150 last year, but he also said he had trouble making 147 in 1999.

I doubt Oscar could, or would, fight Hatton at 147. Why give any extra edge when he doesn't have to? Oscar can dictate the weights and stuff like that because he's the big star.

It's all about your genetics though. Not everybody is built the same. Tyson is 5ft 10/maybe 5ft 11, but he isn't making 147.

DLH was on a serious restricted diet back in the day. As he aged, he thickend.

It's like the female Gymnasts: they can prevent growth by starving themselves. Once they get a little time off, start to eat a bit, they mature, and they can't go back to the little girl figure they had.

Just look at Kostya Tszyu: The guy had made 140 for so long that he became comfortable at only trying to make that weight. By the time he reached his 30's, his body was begging him to move up in weight. Kostya said "No", and his body responded with back to back injuries. Plus, he looked ill at weighins, especially the Hatton weighin.

Getting back to the topic.........Hatton looked good against a lesser opponent. As he rises in competition he is getting exposed more and more. Let's hope Hatton fights a good fight without clinching 90% of it.

Hatton always shows his best in his biggest fights. He'll look good against Castillo.

Hatton would of beaten anybody put in front of him at 140lbs that night.

That for me is his best performance.

Comparing Oscar with Hatton is ******, Oscar is in another league and several inches taller, Ricky never fought anyone that big/tall and wouldn't stand the slightest chance...
                He'd get KO'd

                  Yes, I agree.

This also might be the reason why Tszyu never moved up to fight Oscar and Shane.

hatton has not faced an opponent near what castillo is right now. tszyu was 37, plagued with injuries and had fought 3 rounds in 2 and a half years leading up to the fight. castillo has beaten or held his own against several fighters on the p4p list. i like ricky so i hope what happened to hammed does not happen to him. this fight should tell what level of fighter ricky really is. right now hatton remains mostly untested against the top level of competition. scab, the reason ricky gets mentioned alot is because englishmen are very supportive of their athletes and there are a lot of them on this site. but lets be realistically, hatton may beat castillo but the odds are not in his favor.

hatton won't beat castillo. this is a bad time for hatton to step up, he would have been better against castillo last year. i can see how hatton's abusing his body is starting to catch up with him. he's ballooning up to 185 in between fights and then having to lose 45 pounds before every fight. castillo gets stronger towards the end of the fight, hatton gets weaker

and dlh would knock hatton the **** out
