Judah: "I'm Not Malignaggi, Cotto is My Son"

During an interview with BoxingScene scribe Tim Smith, former undisputed welterweight champion Zab Judah reverted back to the "Super" Judah of the streets. Never at a loss for words, Judah sent a strong message to his June 9 opponent, WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto. [details]

I'm really lookin forward to this fight, Cotto is a tough guy but I think Zab his a great chance to win this. Should be an exciting fight though either way.

How can Cotto be Judah's son when Judah is Cotto's *****?

without looking it up i think zab has a bit of a reach advantage here, and his boxing is definately crisper and cleaner than miguels on the outside, but there no way hes going to win this. If zab had have been fighting the cotto of 6 months to a year ago (not necessarily cos he was 140 but because he just didnt seem to have the mental and physical maturity that he has now in the ring) his comments would make sense and he'd be in with a good shout to win this, but hes facing a much stronger more mature fighter at 147 and im not sure he realises that.

In terms of class opposition again its zab hands down, he's fought everyone and he doesnt get as much credit as he deserves for that, but excluding a blip against Corley and a few blips against Torres, Cotto has always fought well within himself even when straining to make light welter. Cotto will win this and then go on to face hopefully PBF or Hatton.

I would put my money on Cotto if I had to but this is a tough one to pick. Judah is certainly the best fighter that Cotto has faced thus far and so this will if nothing else tell us a lot about the Puerto Rican. Judah has one punch power, good footwork, great handspeed, and is a problem for any fighter. He will be fired up for this, too, as a loss leaves him with no where to go and a whole lot of potential never really fulfilled.

Great post! I like Zab's enthusiasm but once again he's starting the trash talking instead of closing his ****ing mouth & train. Cotto's a different fighter at 147 & come June Cotto will have another son to feed

Get ready to see Zab's chicken dance.
