WORLD WAR III & "24 K" NOTEBOOK TOO!

19 February, 2007 by Cliff Rold

FIGHT OF THE YEAR VOTING IS OPEN!

Arlington, VA – I don’t know what they put in the water in Australia but I’ll be damned if every boxer shouldn’t be drinking it. Warriors Paul Briggs and Jeff Fenech of the continent nation both had sit up and say “Damn” to this one. In an unbelievable war, Aussie native Michael Katsidis (22-0, 20 KOs) captured an interim WBO title at 135. More importantly, he captured the heart of anyone who watched his five round Armageddon Saturday night against England’s Graham Earl (25-2, 12 KOs) at Wembley Arena in London. Both warriors showed heart and pop in a four knockdown affair that may be 2007’s answer to Somsak Sithchatchawal-Mahyar Monshipour. So far, it is the best fight of the year.

    ENOUGH ABOUT THIS FIGHT!!!!

IT was a great fight, but it was VERY ONESIDED!!!

And its NOT the best fight so far this year. ECHOLS-WILLIAMS went the full 12, it was a war, it was between better fighters, and it was a lot more entertaining

It was fairly one-sided, but the level of action in 2 and 4, and the drama in 2, were off the charts. Good call though on Echols-Williams (and I'd give some love to Pavlik-Zertuche too...that was a evry good fight).
