James Toney vs. Samuel Peter re-cap???

hey guys ive been away for a while now. I missed this fight and completely forgot about it.

I know Samuel Peter won it. Can anybody tell me how it went down? I just saw an animated gif of Toney being knocked down with a jab.

was it really that bad. Where does Toney go from here

in the second fight toney looked slower than in the first, he looked worse all around. Peter was in far better shape than in the first and outworked toney throughout the whole fight. Toney landed HUGE shots many times throughout the fight but they didnt faze Peter. Toney won maybe 2 rounds and just didnt seem to have the fire in him. His jab didnt have the accuracy it had in the first fight. He looked like a shot fighter with a brain injury. Toney was wobbled a few times from temple shots but recovered because he still had his evasiveness but he just couldnt seem to time the counters like he used to, and he just didnt throw many punches

edit: the jab that knocked him down was a balance issue because toney squared up but a knockdown none the less. This is all coming from a Toney fan as well

Toney Landed Huge Right Hands It Was Closer Then People Thought But He Lost.. Gained Too Much Muscle , Was Top Heavy.. Shouldnt Of Lifted So Much Weights.. And Did Full Body Polymetrics For Speed And Power. Wrong Game Plan Basically , But It Was A Good Fight

to come back Toney needs to win 1-2 big fights to get a title shot again. But he supposedly has a brain injury and has admitted to using steroids because his body doesen't produce enough testosterone. IMO he should retire

yep,,it was a combination of peter being in better shape and toney finally showing his age and wear and tear. he couldnt get out the way of his own 2 feet in this fight. the toney that detroyed holyfield wouldnt have lost a round to peter

i thought Toneys brain injury has been obvious for many years.

Listen to his interview with Roy Jones Jr from 10 years ago. Theyre both talking clearly and RJJ still is. Roney now talks with a slurr and somewhat hard to understand these days

yeah... it was toney's worst career performance and very sad to see such a good fighter not have it anymore, but it happens all the time.

                  He was worse against Jones.

not. jones was just lightning quick at that time and toney couldnt cope with his speed. plus the fact that toney just couldnt fight at that weight anymore and he was clearly lethargic from it
