    I respect Audley Harrison

First off I am no fan of Audley and couldnt even tell you his record without boxrec. I know their our fighters that we dislike sometimes and want to see them lose because of the fighters fans(or cause of the fighter). But I have respect for any man that steps into "those dark shadows of a ring"(Teddy Atlas). As everyone on this board knows, nobody "plays boxing." You play baseball and football, but not boxing. So anyone who actully gets into that square circle has guts.

Bottem line, we shouldnt hate any fighter. I like em all, even Buster Douglas. And I know at least one or two posters here are probley very hurt over this fight. I know I would be broken if I had seen Tysons last two fights. Audley Harrison may not be a Lennox Lewis, but to someone he's their hero. In our sport we sometimes see out heros beaten down, that dont happen in the other sports. A loss is just a game in basketball or hocky. But it can be tough to witness a "loss" in boxing, perticulary when it's your hero being counted out.

There's nothing wrong with Audley's tools (he's always had all the tools required) and nothing has changed after last night - he just got caught with a lucky punch. If he keeps getting fights and keeps winning, which he has the technique to do, he can still go all the way IMO.

And I like big Aud. I've never seen a reason to even dislike him to be honest, let alone hate him.

I respect anyone that gets in the ring, especially if they have the England flag on their shorts.

However, I couldn't help but laugh when he was out cold! I couldn't help it!

        It was just funny.

        Sorry Aud.

exactly... its not like Manchester United losing a game.. bcoz its just not the same..

when Audley got sparked part of me felt soo sorrry for him.. it felt as if he went back to amaterish skills.. his concentration just went thats all.

he should rematch sprott for free. allowing sprott to keep 100% of the purse. pay him £50,000 for an extra incentive..

Using the old "we should respect anyone who steps into the ring" is all well and good, but we aren't here to suck everyones asses, we're here to have favourites and least favourites, and it doesn't matter what they do, the whole point of us being here is to either be in delusional support of our favourites, or talk alot of **** about the fighters we don't like.

I hate Audley Harrison with a passion, I was in denial when he beat Danny Williams down, and wouldn't admit that he actually put in a good performance for once, and when Michael Sprott KO'ed him last night I celebrated more than when Ricky Hatton beat Kostya Tszyu.

I don't respect him at all, the arrogance he shown long before he even challenged for a national title, the attitude like he didn't/doesn't care about the fans etc. I hope he makes YET ANOTHER comeback and fights someone with a losing record and gets KTFO.

thats harsh really.. how does it affect your life if he talks big?

hes the former olympic gold medalist.. and has a very good amater pedigree. Thats just his personality, not everyone is a friendly Danny Williams. Not everyone is well spoken like Ricky Hatton.

ppl just hate him coz hes "street" and the patwa style english he speaks. before you start saying he talked **** and never fought for the british title "back then".

well thats hard when frank warren signed all the best british heavyweights and didnt wanna let audley fight um without having options on his career.

thell torrence is a **** tooo.. buddy has a better work ethic. with buddy audley was actually hungry and had to 'condition' himself on his own..

none of the bull**** 'celebrity' training with thell in las vegas.

I never said you had to like him, just respect him.
