I was impressed with him in his outing against Guinn. Yes, Guinn did everything wrong. But Thompson also did everything right. Thompson displayed good movement, a sound defense, and a quick, poweful right jab. I also thought he could've stopped Guinn if he stepped up his attack more, but he seemed tentative.
I'll be rooting for Tony Thompson tonight.

Neither of these heavyweights look like anything special tonight... Not probably how Thompson wanted to look on a national TV stageComment

I thought Thompson looked very good. He didn't look exciting at all, but do not confuse the words exciting and good to be synonyms in boxing. He displayed the same very good jab and steady as she goes nature that could give troubles to some of the established fighters. He has no real power to speak of and his hand speed is only passable at best, but he makes up for it with intelligent punching and really good accuracy for a heavy. He's not a great fighter, and he may lull you to sleep, but he is a very good fighter and somebody is going to have to step up and take him on pretty soon.Comment

Yeah, what's up with Kost showboating when he gets hurt? He did that against Ward too. It makes him look ****** and it actually works the opposite of what he's intending when he acts like the punches didn't hurt him - he's telling Dirrell "yeah you hurt me, and now I'm going to further embarass myself by gyrating ridiculously... )Comment

my man tony was a sure thing tonight, he could have looked better i spose but power isnt the name of his game.... he knows what he does best and he sticks to it, its not TV friendly but neither was his opponent.... i think he had some nerves early and would have stopped ibragimov if the fight were a 12 rounder....
i was looking forward to this fight for awhile
i put $1800 american down on thompson at -240 when the line 1st came out
i won $750 tonight
i put all 2550 right back down on berto tomorrow night to win 255 dollars
hell berto at -1000 is worth it, basically giving away moneyComment
