One and only belt that matters is the Ring Magazine belt. When ever I watch a "World Title" bout, if the champ doesn't have the Ring Magazine belt, I don't consider that fighter a real champ.

I think Hatton should get rid of the IBO as well... he doesn't have to pay the sanctioning fee to IBO. How much is the sanctioning fee anyway? Is it 1% or 5% ???

Although the Ring belt is and should be more respected than the alphabet-soup, It is not without problems itself.
For example it's lack of ability to force mandatories means that once you've become Ring-champ you can pretty much do as you please - take any kind of crap fights and avoid obvious challenges. I think the Ring CAN strip you - but it would take a lot for it to happen.
So - it might be better, but it's far from perfect.

At least the IBO doesent strip their champions for fighting other champions like the "big four" does.

I am not a big fan of sanctioning bodies in general; but for a "third-rate" organization, the IBO has made some very classy decisions. As someone mentioned earlier, they supported the unification between Tarver and Johnson, which I thought was top-notch. So, hats off to 'em for doing it again and supporting Hatton and Castillo.

As an aside, I think it should be noted that because hardly ANYONE has heard of the IBO, that would be a strong reason for them to make "popular" decsions......that's how you get "known". Then you yank the rugs out from under the public.

That's another example of how the IBO is helping the sport. The IBO never striped Lennox Lewis like the WBA and IBF did when he was the undisputed champ. The IBO let's unification bouts happen unlike some of the other sanctioning bodies.

what does pac not having a belt prove?
