I counted at least three or four re-watching the fight today that weren't called.

There were quite a few headbutts that I noticed went uncalled as well. I can't be for certain though, as I have only seen it 3 times. I think the headbutts had some effect of Paulie's face, granted the majority of it was from power shots...but some people made a little much of it IMO.

Oh absolutely, very entertaining bout. I wouldn't want to see Paulie get dismantled again though. But if he keeps on talking **** the way he does, and saying he wants a rematch with Cotto "down the line"...I may change my tune on this one.

Nah I think he did good there were moments that Cotto seemed frustrated. If he can learn to block his face instead of getting hit with unnecessary shots.. with that Philly shell style he should be good. What I like is that he traded though and didn't just try and pop shot and run.

You absolutely have to respect Paulie for trading shots. He's one of the bravest fighters I've seen recently, and definately put on the bravest fight of last year. I was also amazed that such a small kid, with such a "pretty" face could take those shots.

Well I am a Cotto fan so I may be a little biased. Nevertheless I have all Cottos fights and have watched them all more than once. I can tell you that the headbutts had little effect on Paulies face. If you watch carefully, all the headbutts connected with Paulies left side of the face. The first headbutt opened up a cut above Malinaggis left eye. The damage to Paulies face was primarily on the right side of his face, courtesy of Cottos left hook. Also if you watch the video, after the last round and the judges scorecard you can see Cotto yelp in pain when they took his left glove off. Anyway, Paulie got my respect and he showed great heart. But the headbutts had no effect on the outcome and if they ever fight again it will probably have the same result.
