Marky Mark and Damon will do excellent in these roles.

Actually, his brother ****ie is the big storyline of his personal life. There is a documentary HBO did called 'High on Crack Street' which chronicled the life of 3 junkies from Lowell, one of which was ****ie Eklund. Eklund had been in and out of jail, mostly due to his addiction. Micky was a big crusader in trying to straighten his life out. In fact, in the doc. there is a fundraiser for ****ie where they televised some of his fights (including his fight with Sugar Ray) and a brawl breaks out with Micky in the middle of it all. You also see some footage of one of Micky's early fights. Anyway, Micky finally was ablel to help ****ie out and took care of him after he cleaned himself up.
I'm sure the movie will also be in the same vein as the original Rocky film, with Ward getting his ass whopped around the ring to end it with one shot, his bloody wars in the ring and his life out of the ring, where he cant get a big money fight and has to work as a steamroller when he doesnt fight.
If you want to equate a living fighter today with the fictional Rocky Balboa (his never give up heart, take horrible punishment to land that one big shot and his humbleness and class in and out of the ring) then I dont think you'll find anyone better suited than Micky Ward.

lol...why you knocking his acting? I think he does a pretty good job. And hey, he HAS been nominated for an Oscar for Departed.
I just wonder if he's gonna try and get Mick's voice down.

just having fun, but his acting is pretty stagnant, but i think he is a good choice for the role, i'd rather see wahlberg than affleck or keanu, not just this movie but in anything.

and for the record The Departed ******, the story was full of holes, the acting was so-so at best, and the ending was weak as ****, everyone was just in love with the cast, the cast is what was sold to the people and then they were lead to believe that the story was good because of who was in the movie, i was really dissapointed but expected that to be the case before i saw the flick, which became fact when i was watching it.
it's just another hollywood hype to sell a flick, get a good cast then smoke and mirrors the **** out of it.

I dunno...I liked it and not because of the cast. I mean, it's a Scorcese gangster pic. And he's proven in the past to know what he's doing.

Which plotline holes are you talking about?

By the way, there's already talks of a sequel.
