    A Look Back at 147 - 154 During The Last 10 Years

During the last 10 years we've been privilaged enough to watch some of the most intriguing, most anticipated and most competetive fights at 147 and 154 pounds. We've seen DLH vs Whitaker, DLH vs Quartey, DLH vs Tito, DLH vs Mosley I & II, DLH vs Vargas, DLH vs Mayorga, Mosley vs Forrest I & II, Mosley vs Wright I & II, Mosley vs Vargas I & II, Tito vs Whitaker, Tito vs Vargas, Tito vs Reid, Vargas vs Wright, Vargas vs Quartey, Mayorga vs Forrest I & II and lately we've even seen Wright vs Quartey and Forrest vs Quartey. Not to mention the mega fight this May between Oscar and Floyd at 154. I consider myself lucky to have witnessed so many great match-ups during the last decade. Which of these fights do you remember the most and why???

The fights I remember most from 147 are Whitaker/Hurtado and DLH/Quartey. Whitaker showed that he had the intangibles in that fight...coming back from a points hole with a desperation KO. That volley of left hands was amazing.

The DLH/Quartey fight was just a great match between two great fighters. Both guys hit the deck, both guys fought their asses off. It was also the first time that we saw DLH get beat up a bit. I thought it was a wrong decision, but it was a close fight.

i have seen all those fights and more but I would honestly say no fight is more entertaining than tito vs vargas...

vargas does down twice in the first round off of a big left killer hook... comes back in the fight to put trinidad on his ass...and then tito turns around and knocks him down 3 times in 12th...

dont get no better than that ...

You know, for a few years there I would watch that fight over and over. The hype was tremendous, and the fight itself lived up to all the hype, great fight.

for me, its between DLH-MOSLEY and DLH_QUARTEY.

two FOTY type fights between some of the best of the era.

i went with DLH-QARTEY because of the 12th round drama. That made it more memorable for me

in terms of all around boxing ability, drama, the fight, and the history previous to the fight and post fight as well, i like DLH VS VARGAS A LOT!

IN TERMS OF ENTERTAINMENT, TITO VS VARGAS hands down

February 1999 was most memorable, 4 of the best welterweights took on each other, Dela Hoya vs Quartey, Trinidad vs Whitaker, although these fights happen too late, Ike was on the losing end among the four, as potential fights with whitaker and tito didnt materialized a year before and uncle bob was influencing the judges in his fight with DLH.
