The point of fighting Urango was in fact to get his IBF belt back (he vacated it when he fought Collazo), and I'm sure Hatton didn't anticipate the IBF making him vacate after winning it (hence the rumors last week he was interested in the N'Dou fight--to KEEP the belt he just won).

The Wire is right, this fight IS a title fight, it's for the Ring title and concurrently the undisputed 140 lb. title.

The IBF must hate Hatton for some reason. He leaves 140 for one fight against Collazo (never said he was going to stay at 147 I don't think), and they strip him. Then he comes back, wins it easily vs. Urango, signs to fight Castillo (attn IBF: JLC is no undeserving challenger), and he gets stripped again? Unreal. Compare this to PBF not getting stripped of his WBC weltertitle belt to fight Oscar (not yet, anyway) and he didn't get stripped of his WBC 140 belt until after the Judah fight was signed, which made TWO fights at 147 for him.

Why doesn't the WBA strip Cotto for not fighting a mandatory in his first defense? And since Hatton actually won the IBF belt BEFORE, he didn't just win it for the first time, doesn't it make sense for the IBF to give him at least one voluntary? The IBF is just worse than most of the other already-dreadful alphabets.

Oh well, I guess he would have vacated after Castillo anyway, because IF he beats Castillo everyone will want him to fight the Witter-Harris winner or someone like Cotto or Mosley, if he dares to give 147 another try.

Yeah Hatton is a real fighter.

That's why this fight will be made and more than likely will be exciting.

Oh and belts don't make the fighter, fighters make the belt.

Then why bother fighting Urango? All Urango offered was a belt. The fight was a total waste of time and he should have went straight to the Castillo fight...

Thats good. The sport needs to learn that NON-TITLE fights could mean big money as well, and more non-title big fights should be made
