DiBella continues to try to close the deal with "The Contender" promoters for Taylor to fight Sergio Mora on either April 14 or 21. The date depends on a site deal. Sites in the running for the fight include Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Memphis, Atlantic City and Vancouver, DiBella said. Holding up the deal with Mora, according to DiBella, is Mora's insistence on a bigger purse. If he can't close with Mora, DiBella said he has had a discussion with Don King about matching Taylor with junior middleweight titlist Cory Spinks instead.

Mora demanding more money in fighting Taylor
Mora must be deluded, what does he bring to the table for him to demand a bigger purse? Most boxers would jump at the chance to fight the world champion, considering it would be a voluntary defence.Last edited by uppercut_84; 02-09-2007, 04:41 PM.Tags: None -
Yea Mora should be happy if he fights him for free. But Taylor-Spinks would be a snooze fest. How about Abraham-Taylor in April? -

I would go as far as to say hes more well known than Taylor and could attract more of the audience. Taylor is the champion but Mora may be the bigger attraction, so it depends how you look at it.Comment

uuuugh, wrong. mora is a nobody. way more people know taylor than will ever know mora. plain and simple those are the facts. not trying to insult mora be he should be lucky hes even getting a maybe shot at fighting a real champion like jermaine.Comment

Mora you suck. Jermain should just fight somebody good instead. Mora's not in the top ten, and he's never beaten anyone in the top ten. I know Jermain wants a knockout and all, but if Mora is going to behave like this, why give him the fight?Comment
