  • Where is Andre Ward?

Anyone have any info on Andre Ward. He was considered a very highly regarded Prospect out of the 2004 US Olympic team. I know he had some hand/wrist problems going into his last bout. He's been inactive since his November bout.

As a prospect trying to gain experience, his handlers should have him fighting every few months.

Even though he was considered the brightest star coming out of the Olympics, I believe by far Vanes Martirosyan has become the highlight of the Olympic team. He's put together a strong team of handlers and has been put together a great 12-0 8Ko record. I've seen his last 5 fights live and he's improved in the ring dramatically. Not to mention, he draws an amazing following. He Def. should be on everyone's watch list

Andre is making ok progress, but naturally Gold medalists do have alot of pressure on them and very high expectations to live up to. He was a bit exposed in one of his earlier fights and has a questionable chin.

As for Vanes Martirosyan, you my friend know your boxing and are lookin in the right direction as far as prospects, and the future of the Jr. Middleweight division.

Did you notice Antonio Margarito ringside at VANES' last fight at the Honda Center?? He was studying a possible foe down the line.
They are both promoted by TOP RANK, Bob Arum, so it could happen in due time if Margarito moves up in weight.

oh and your website - www.Touchgloves.com looks great

I was at his fight against darnell boone on the Mayweather-Mitchell undercard up in portland when he got dropped by an upercut and looked to be hurt pretty good, though i think he probably underestimated his opponent and didnt see it coming. He was also rocked good on one of his televised fights, that might be the one your talkin about, i'd say his chin's a bit questionable.

Definitely. It looks like that might hinder him as he rises through the ranks. If he gets through his career without being stopped it'll be a miracle.

            Ward sighting

I seen him at Walmart in Dublin, CA about a month back with his son, actually i'm not sure if it was his son. It was just after his fight in San Jose that he won. His career seems to have slowed down, I think he still visits and trains at his old gym out in Hayward every now and then. He didn't mention that he had any upcoming fights.

I thought he trained at King's Gym in East Oakland.

Thank for checking out the site. It still has major work to be done. We're in the process of revamping the site.

I did notice Margarito at ringside. I'm sure most of the Welterweight, Middleweight, and Jr. Middleweight fighters have heard of Vanes. It's been said that Freddie Roach has a hard time finding fighters to Spar with him. He's so intense in training. If he's scaring sparring partners with the 16 oz gloves, imagine what his opponents are thinking. Scary man.
