    Tyson checks into re-hab

Former two-time heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has checked himself into a substance abuse treatment clinic for ’’various addictions’’ while awaiting trial on drug charges.

’’He needed to get involved in something that would help him with his addiction,’’ Tyson attorney David Chesnoff said.

Chesnoff wouldn’t say what the ex-fighter was actually addicted to, but Tyson reportedly told arresting officers that he used ******* ‘whenever I can get my hands on it’..

The 40-year-old Tyson pleaded not guilty on Jan. 22 in Maricopa County Superior Court to charges of drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession counts and two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of drugs.

A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 26. Tyson faces over seven years of jail time if convicted.

You always plead not guilty if you don't want the maximum sentence.

Yes but going into a rehab is an admission that indeed he is guilty of the charge of using drugs. It's the otherway around, that could get him the maximum sentence.

Would that mean his lawyers can get him into a bargaining position to get a lesser offense and sentence?
