You're right... But today's heavyweight(with few exceptions), tries to take the easiest path to the top by fighting the least dangerous opponents. For instance, look at Tye Fields, Shannon Briggs, Matt Skelton, etc...

yeah, i understand that, but these guys are gonna fail miserably when it counts if they dont get some real fights under their belts.....

arreola, chambers, chazz witherspoon, travis walker, malik scott, kevin johnson, alonzo butler.....

all these guys have sexy looking records without ever beating anyone of significance..... walker at least has taken some tough fights and recently defeated ex-olympian estrada in the kind of matchup that needs to keep happeneing....

all the guys listed above need to duke it out with each other cause they are the top american prospects and maybe 1 or 2 will turn out to be solid contenders.... they should be fighting each other not a bunch of bums.

i find it ironic that guys who are good fighters and tough guys spend 5 years beating up people who have no chance..... i mean really how good can you be if you are that afraid to lose?

Well, I think a part of these seemingly bloated records are a product of their expectations and the expectations people had of them to start their career, being nothing. These guys started fighting bums because they were expected to be bums. Now they have beat bums long enough so maybe they can get more legit fights. I think you'll start seeing them fight each other soon.
