How is Briggs going to cope with the pressure Sultan brings? Briggs is at his best against hesitant opponents, guys who allow him to pace himself so he can intimidate them and catch them off guard by suddenly switching up his tempo and lashing out with swift punches. If you come right at Briggs, hitting him to the head and body like Sultan likes to do, the guy falls apart.

sultan cant take a punch and youre forgetting he fought nothing like your above description in his fight against ray austin, who doesent have half of briggs' power

Obviously that must be the only fight of his you've seen because he takes a great punch and he must of had an off night in that fight because he usually is very aggressive and attacks throughout the entire fight. I don't know what he was thinking against Austin but I'm sure he learned his lesson.

the same way Ray Austin dealt with his pressure. He even knocked him down, Imagine someone like Briggs who has much more power than Austin and a better reach, what would he do to him. Briggs will prove everyone wrong once again like he did against Sergei.

Also handspeed is a big factor here, Sultan will eat punches that he does'nt see coming and the punches you dont see coming always hurt the most.

I agree, Austin's handspeed is not top notch but he was still able to connext and even knockdown SI. Briggs has faster hands and one of the hardest hitters in today's HWs.

Shannon's boxing skills is very underrated here, I see Briggs snap Sultan's head with his fast jabs all night and hit him with double left hooks to the head and body. He could also take him out with huge straight right to the chin or body.

you seem to be overrating briggs and underrating sultan. he did look very vulnerable against austin but he was also clearly not in shape and looked much better against whitaker. briggs has losses to worse fighters than sultan

yes,,,10 yrs ago when briggs was better than he is now. not sure what you mean by "sultan couldn;t cope with austin"? it was a draw and sultan was clearly out of shape. He fought much better against whitaker when he was in the 220lb range and overall I dont think austin is any worse overall than briggs. at least he can keep a pace for 12 rounds and isnt as easy a target to hit as briggs is. sure briggs could crack austin and take him out early,,,but if sultan weathers the early storm which I think he will its target practice on briggs
