    Froch question

I got a question for anyone who's seen Carl Froch fight.Mainly British posters I
guess.Anyways, how good is Froch talent wise? His record didn't tell me too much.Would he give Calzaghe a good fight? Now or in the near future? Is he a brawler?Or a boxer?

He's a boxer with a decent punch. He holds his hands low and uses upper body movement to get out of the way of punches but as a result he gets tagged quite a bit. Having said that, he does use that to make his opponents commit before unleashing wicked counters.

He's a good fighter, no doubt about it, but I don't think he could give Calzaghe too many problems at this point. However, he is improving all the time and the body shot he took Dodson out with last time out was really good. But again, he was tagged quite a bit in the first. He knocked out Brian Magee with one good hand, and Magee is fringe world class.

I think that he will go quite far - maybe win an ABC belt - but whether he'll achieve what he thinks he will I'm not so sure

He models his boxing and life style after some MONKS... (cant remember who)

he still lives with his mum.. he doesnt drink or do drugs...
he looks a bit sloppy at times.. and easy to hit..

Its all part of his plan to figure out the reach on strenghts of his opponents..
He has the power of a heavyweight.. and the acucracy to deliver crushing blows..

And eventually he does and then the fight is over..

I think he would beat Calzaghe,Kessler.. and as we soon shall see Bute..

his power can be devastating but he has brittle hands his hands are too low at times and his arrgoance is sickening at times

also his level of competition has been average at best and hes now the wrong side of 20

ui think kessler would whup him and i think calzaghe could beat him but if calz hurt his hands early like against ashira hed have a long night ahead

Froch is a powerful counterpuncher. At the moment he'd give Calzaghe a good fight. Froch tends to leave his hands low to try and tempt his opponent to attack him, however his defence is nowhere near as open as many would think, and that tends to surprise his opponents.

Froch won a bronze medal at the amateur world championships so is obviously a tidy technician as well, when he wants to be.

Froch is the next big star of world boxing. would knock calzaghes head off.
            Punches like Heavyweight.
Tends to hold hands low and looks for devastating uppercut as opponent comes forward.

I see him as too good for domestic and Europeon level but not quite good enough to trouble the division elite aka Joe and Kessler! His power is good his chin is good infact apart from a leaky defence he is an all rounder but for me he just falls that bit short!

saw froch fight live in notthingham a few years back against matthew barney. barney was just coming off a close, disputed loss for the euro belt but froch dominated.

agreed, he does hold his hands low and his chin in the air but he has the equaliser to get him outta trouble.

hes certainly world class, and im sure he would murder fringe fighters (lacy, beyer, bute) and give the creme a tough fight (calzaghe, kessler, andrade)
