Dino Duva comments on Peter-Maskaev; Klitschko and Holt-Arnaoutis
By Marc Abrams
15rounds.com contacted promoter Dino Duva on Friday to get comments on the goings on with the situation surrounding the WBC heavyweight championship plus the progress of a proposed bout between Kendall Holt and Mike Arnaoutis.
"Nothing has been resolved and we plan on making the Maskaev for Sam" said Duva. "The WBC wanted a mediation to take place and we won't be a part of it. We have a meeting next week in New York to hopefully make the Maskaev fight and and anything less would be in violation of Samuel Peter's right's"
Duva told 15rounds.com that he expects representatives from team Peter that will include manager Ivalo Gotzev and Lawyers plus representatives from Klitschko, Maskaev and the WBC to be in attendance.
Duva also confirmed that a fight between 140-pound contenders Kendall Holt and Mike Arnaoutis is going to be a reality.
"The fighters, myself and (Arnaoutis promoter) Joe Deguardia have agreed to the terms. We are now looking for a date and venue. SHOWTIME his interest in the fight. We have a date in March and April in mind. We would like to stage the fight in Atlantic City. This fight will defiantly be in the Northeast."
