A number system won't work. What about fighters who roll with punches and mexican fighters who take 3 to give 1. By numbers they would lose even if they are doing the more damage.

I think more pressure should be put in the corners to keep there fighters safe. I've seen trainers trying to live through there fighter and not care about what happens in the ring. For example the guy andre berto just beat, he clearly wanted no more but his trainer guilted him in to fighting.
