I agree. As for the game it was good for the first 3 quarters and then the Bears just fell apart.Comment

Well nothing happened as for Mayweather jr. and De la hoya as for the game the bears got taken apart and that's it.Comment

yeah for people who hate Mayweather I could understand how it's not the biggest fight since Leonard-Hagler. for objective people, it is.Their fight is in no way the biggest fight in decades. This fight isn't bigger than Trinidad/Delahoya was. There was talk about those two fighting for a few years. There hasn't been a buzz about Delahoya/Mayweather until recently. Sure there were discussions on forums but nothing of the magnitude of Trinidad/Delahoya or even Morales/Pacquiao I.Comment

I agree with the poster that said this is the biggest fight since Trinidad/DelaHoya. The only big difference is the build up to the fight. DLH/Trinidad were both beating down opponents and there was the big Mexico - PR (Even though DLH is American) rivalry. They were both also undefeated if I remember together and the "0" had to go.Comment

This is MUCH bigger then De La Hoya- Trinidad.
The fact that there is already hype is insane. They havent even started promoting the fight yet!
the promoting starts february 20th. When that starts, you'll fell it.
They are having 4 countdown shows to promote the fight. The tickets sold out in under 3 hours.
There is so much on the line for Mayweather, and so much to prove for De La Hoya.
This is a bigger fight then TRINIDAD-DE LA HOYA in every way, and it should be a much better fight as well.
Hopefully it will end with a just decision
You all must not remember Trinidad/Delahoya and the hype that surrounded that fight. Maybe some of you were too young but they didn't need countdown shows much less 4 to promote that fight. There was hype for a few years about these two meeting. The tickets for the fight sold out quick and they were even the first to have a live weigh-in in the arena itself. The arena was packed just for the weigh-in. Let's also not forget that they were both undefeated and had alot riding on that fight plus the Mexico-Puerto Rican rivalry.
Every sports show was talking about that fight. That's why everyone was disappointed when the fight failed to meet the hype.
Maybe Delahoya/Mayweather might gain as much hype as Trinidad/Delahoya but it is not that big yet. Definitely not big enough to say it is the biggest fight in decades.Last edited by mic573; 02-05-2007, 06:59 PM.Comment
