It's funny because it's mainly the Japs that beat their fighters up, but....

they get their asses handed to them in the higher weights. lol.

I highly doubt anyone is beating on Rampage, Fedor, Mirko, Barnett, Wand, Tito, Chuck, Shogun etc. I think it's a ****** idea, and might hurt their confidence. You aren't fighting back right? That's unecessarily taking a beating, and does nothing for you.

its the same as taking a one sided beating in sparring, you seem to remember it for a long time, and you can get stronger, or it can put you off..

Part of being a good trainer is understanding where your fighter came up short and improve him. If you have to beat him up to improve him and you know for a fact its gonna work, so be it. I would take a different approach...

A few slaps for motivation is one thing, but the first clip was an assault. Plain and simple. Wouldnt help anything.

I think they beat the fighter up to scare them...like saying if you dont win or fight your heart out you know what you will get in the lockeroom waiting for you.

but ya that first beating is too much when he knocked the guy out with the footheel stomp and the guys head clanged on the metal door the guy was out cold.

If I am a professional fighter and my trainer tries to beat me upm I will end him and tell the police it was a needed selfdefense.

Mullet head and the guy in the warm-ups are bullies. They are sure that these students will not fight back, so they do what was done to them, just like frat hazing. It serves no real purpose other than to make these students "tough", which is unnecessary. There are a multitude of fighters who were not treated this way, but are the very best and baddest. These losers prey on the weak.
