I'm really confused by this, can someone with a legal background tell me in plain english the solution the WBC is aiming for. I might have it completly wrong but it sounds like they can't make thier mind up who has the rightful claim to fight Maskevev. By having a neutral party decide, that has nothing to do with the WBC, determin who fights who? is this to avoid legal battles?

Why don't we have Larry Holmes come out of retirement and big George Foreman as well, have them fight each other right now, and the winner will be declared the WBC Heavyweight Champion. Sure, I know they have been out of the fight game for a while, but what the hell, since the WBC obviously doesn't require a fighter to earn a shot, we may as well give the title back to either Holmes or Foreman, since both are just as deserving of a title shot as Klitschko at this point...

.......Well, because neither one of those guys made sure they got the WBC Champion Emeritus status that Vitali sought and received because he figured he probably would come back. If they pull an emeritus status ruling out of their ass then you may have a point. Peter had to beat a fat little middleweight to get his shot. Other than that he hasn't beaten anyone. The one time he stepped up he got badly beaten by WK. Vitali was the best in the division and he should get the immediate shot due to his status and his emeritus status. It will just make the Vitali/Peter fight that much better when it happens. Vitali still kicks his ass and knocks him out for the first time in his career but you get the point.

Sorry my friend but I am not buying it, Klitschko quit, he retired, he gave up the belt period. And when he did, there was no B.S. about any kind of special status, he quit plain and simple. I don't care what kind of B.S. "emeritus" garbage they want to try to get the boxing public to swallow, it's hogwash, and everyone can see that including you.

I don't mind him coming back, but to not even have to beat any current contenders who have been fighting for their spot, not running a failed campaign to become a politician, is a disgrace to the sport...

....There was an article on here about the emeritus status immediately after announcing his retirement. This is not something they pulled out of a hat. It was mentioned extensively right when he retired. How the hell is the other coast of good ol Florida treating you these days my friend? Is everything going to plan?

Well WBC will have to revise their rule book and remove the "champion emeritus status" crap of of it.

It's basically the root of all these bull****s.

Well then, I stand corrected if that is the case, but still a bunch of bull, like I said, I guess we can have Foreman vs Holmes for the WBC title next, who cares if they haven't been in the fight game for years eh Jose?!
The coast here is nice my friend! I am loving it, and indeed the World Cage Fighters is gonna rock!

These corrupt sanctioning bodies rarely do what is right.

Both Maskaev and Klitschko know they have poor defensive skills and are sitting ducks for Sam Peter's firepower. They also know that it is in their best financial interests to fight each each before one of them is forced to fight Peter.

I hope Vitali just fights Peter and then the winner fights for the title.

Just so all the haters STFU. I crave a Vitali/Peter fight.

....Yep, I would love to see big Vit fight Peter. I guarantee that it would be the first time Peter tasted and then stayed on the canvas.
