    Tony Thompson-Timor Ibgragimov on 2/16

HOLLYWOOD, FL – With a combined record of 49-2-1, it is amazing that Timor Ibragimov (21-1-1, 13 KOs) and Tony Thompson (28-1, 17 KOs) haven’t already received a well-earned shot at the World Heavyweight Title. So on Friday, February 16, at the Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills, California, these highly-avoided warriors will do things the old fashioned way by fighting each other and leaving no doubt as to which fighter is truly the most deserving contender. Promoters talk alot of b.s. in the way they try to hype fights and the respective boxers who are involved. IMO, Thompson is a top fifteen contender and (Timor) Ibragimov is a journey-man at best. Frankly, I would've liked to see Thompson fight someone a little more risky than the offensively-challenged Ibragimov.

I think most people here who plan to watch this fight are also interested in seeing how Thompson does against this journey-man. I think the only acceptable result for Thompson to keep his ranking or better it, is a KO of Ibragimov. If he doesn't do this then I'll write him off as a fringe- contender.

Come on, boxing is not only about KOs. I enjoy a good fight even if it doesn't end in a knock out. Kalzaghe didn't knock Lacy out but it was one hell of a fight, you know? Timur is a fringe contender at best, I don't think Thompson should have many problems. The only thing is, Thompson is not a kid anymore, he needs to move up in rankings fast and fight someone from top 10 soon to be anywhere close to the title shot. Or he can sign up with Don King and get a title shot this year.

i keep saying it and i will stand by it, thompson is the best american heavyweight at this moment..

he is better than briggs, rahman, brock IMO

but he not a KO puncher so if you need a KO to be impressed then you dont veen watch the fight cause ibragimov is gonna turtle up all night like a fat-ass Julio Ler.

thomspn landed better than 50 percent of his shots over the 12 round distance in his last fight..

he is 6'6, left-handed and throws precise combination punches, he evenfights good and keep tight inside despite his size.. i find it refreshing at the weight, samuel peter can go hump a tree id rather see someone droppin sweet combos all night long

I see little in Timor to be excited about and Thompson is a hidden, unused talent in my eyes.....I think Thompson wins a nice UD in this fight.

thomson was ducked by luan krasniqi late last year in a proposed eliminator bout.... for those who said they wanted a better opponent

thompson will win every round, i think he can force ibragimov into submission and get the ref to stop the fight
