i agree with the first 5
i am suprised that marciano and louis were there but foreman isn't, foreman had tremendous power he just hardly ever hit the chin cleanly.
naseem hamed did have amazing power for is size BUT his reliance on powershots cost him as he fought better opponents.
i'm not surprised tyson isn;t there. he was powerful but his real power came from flowing combinations and awe-inspiring accuracyComment

I would put Kostya Tszyu somewhere in that list as well. His straight right was incredible. If he locked it the opponent went down.
Sorry folks, if you think Naz doesn't belong on the list you really need to watch some more of his fights. His knock out power was phenominal. His hands were lightening quick and his angles were bizarre and he could finish a fight pretty much at will. Ludicrously talented.
Of course, talent and power don't help if you mess about and stop training properly then take on an all-time great. Silly sod. I can't remember him even landing in the Barrera fight.Comment

Yeah, Jackson is in my best estimation the hardest puncher of all time.
Naz was close. I still say Hamed is the hardest hitting fighter under 130 of all time. I've never seen a small guy hit that hard...it was ridiculous.

I completely agree with this. There is so much more that is incorporated in punching besides raw power.
Guys like Joe Louis, Alexis Arguello, Thomas Hearns, Ray Robinson, and Julian Jackson are what personify a puncher to me. Those guys threw their punches with excellent form, blinding speed, deadly precision and devastating power. They'd shoot their punches straight and they'd keep em compact. You really can't find anything much nicer than a Tommy Hearns right cross or a Joe Louis ANYTHING.Comment
