if cotto loses this fight it is career suicide. cottos handlers should never allow this fight to happen. i think cotto is better than margarito but i dont think this is a good matchup for him. cotto will fade away after he gets knocked out.

Hey block, how long does Cotto have to wait to get a huge fight. I mean we've all been waiting for it and its finally here and you're complaining? Its about time he steps his game up.

i agree with the fact that he needs to step it up but i think that margarito is a bit too big of a step. i would rather see him fight a less dangerous big name fighter like hatton.

Hatton went back down in weight after the Collazo lost. Mayweather is tied up with Oscar, and Paul Williams, well he is being ducked by Margarito. This is the only logical big name fight for Cotto.

thats true, i just think its a bad idea. if he wins though i would like to see him fight mayweather but floyd is going to get humiliated into early retirement by oscar so that fight wont happen.

              Margarito agrees to Cotto fight!

World Welterweight Champion Antonio Margarito has agreed to take on two-time world champion Miguel Cotto on a Top Rank mega event June 9 at Madison Square Garden. Bob Arum of Top Rank and Team Margarito made the announcement today. "This is the biggest fight out there for me," Margarito said. "I am anxious to get into the ring against Cotto." Margarito, the 'Tijuana Tornado' with a record of 34-4 with 24 knockouts, is presently out with an injury in his right wrist. Margarito, managed by Sergio Diaz and Francisco Espinoza, will attend the Miguel Cotto vs. Oktay Urkal WBA world welterweight championship fight on March 3 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. If Cotto wins, a formal Cotto vs. Margarito announcement will be made that night.
