Outside of a huge payday....I don't see the reason for a fight between Hopkins and Jones to be made. How much will that actually do for either fighter's legacy....seeing as how Roy is washed up and Nard recently moved to LHW. If Hopkins was thoroughly outpointed by Jones, people would just point to him being a natural middleweight who never really belonged at LHW outside of a style made fight against Tarver. On the other hand...if Hopkins knocks Roy out or wins on the cards, everyone is just going to point to Roy being washed up and discuss how he ruined his body with earlier fights etc.
. If a fight between Jones and Hopkins is made as a PPV attraction.....they had better put on a good show, or else I highly doubt they can expect people to buy more PPV's on these two little "comeback trails" of theirs.
I'm a huge fan of both fighters.....but I think it's time Roy hung em up. Hopkins at least showed he can continue to fight at a high level by shutting out Tarver.
