A Boxing PPV Equevalant to Wrestle Mania?

I know this sounds ******, just hear me out for a minute. Why doesnt boxing have an annual "Super Card" similar to what Wrestle Mania is? An annual event where there is three or four main event type matches along with a couple good undercard matches.

Imagine having something like Oscar/Mayweather, Taylor/Calzaghe, Cotto/Margarito all on one card. It could be a team effort with HBO and Showtime, and be heavily promoted by every sports station. I know something like this is as farfetched as a heavyweight unification, but hey its worth dreaming about.

    Just a thought....

Nobody beats Don king's cards in 94' , 4 world title fights which features revenges, rematches, chavez-Randall, Norris-Brown, McClellan-Jackson, thats the best i've ever seen.

Exactly. In the golden days good fighters were good fighters because they fought all the time, some still with injured faces and hands. Today fighters have to be frozen in an ice box for conditioning before they can even start sparring for their "big fight".

You put 3 or 4 superfights on and everyone involved's profit suffers...

Plus with Wrestlemania it's all WWE employees. How many promoters are going to cooperate to do one show?

Don King already did this with his fighters back in 2003. The card ran for more than 8 hours. Remember, the fights turned out to suck. Ruiz beat Rahman, Spinks upset Mayorga, and Hopkins dominated Joppy. Very, very boring event, but I watched it free.

of course we would like to see something like that, just with the political structure in boxing something like that could never happen, period.
