How do you figure this fight plays out?

Miranda will be a dangerous fight for anyone at middleweight. Though I think his punching power is overrated, he can no doubt ****, especially with his right, but his fight with Howard Eastman showed a fighter that will have to entirely rely on his power and ability to get his opponent out of there. I also believe his overrated power was shown against Abraham, but Miranda did show guts in that fight.

I just think Pavlik is much more skilled and sound in defense, but if he lets up it could really cost him against Miranda. I think Miranda would come trying to score a wild first round knockout and as a result the sharper puncher Pavlik would jump on that opportunity very quickly. It would be a good fight though regardless and one that I want to see.

Right now though I think Pavlik has as good a chance of beating Jermain Taylor as anyone.

miranda is sloppy and crude but powerful.

pavlik is extremely well rounded, but drops his defense.

miranda has more power, but pavlik is better at delivering it.

pavlik has the better chin, no question.

pavlik has more decipline, more stamina, and vastly superior technique.

basically, the only advantage miranda has over pavlik is raw power, but its not like miranda easily has that advantage, pavlik punches will KO anyone.

I think the HBO BAD crew was making too much of Pavlik's 'lapses of defense'. You are going to get hit in boxing. Pavlik showed that he can take a good punch and he delivers power punches - in combinations which is rare to see with boxing these days.

Exactly. It seems like HBO classes Pavlik BELOW Miranda, when really it should be just about even. With that said, I think Pavlik simply would not be able to handle Miranda.

But why jump ahead? Let's see if Miranda can get by Alan Green...

I don't see Miranda getting by Green, personally. Green has the tendency to get hit with some big shots and he should of drew (on my card) with that experienced southpaw he fought (his name escapes me) but he has the tools and power to give Miranda a pretty big beating provided he uses a lot of movement and circles away from Miranda's only weapon - his right hand.

You forget that Miranda has a HUGE jab, when he uses it. I think that Green has a pretty suspect chin. That Linnton guy that he fought on FNF was not even catching Green flush for the whole fight, but when he did, it was nap time for Green. Green will have to go the whole fight being extremely cautious, and tying the strong Miranda up. Nobody can really stop Miranda when he lunges, they can just stick and move. That being said, Green can use his speed to carry himself through the fight, but I predict a KO for Pantera.

I like how you worded that. Keyword: "when he uses it". Miranda's style is extremely raw and wild. He is going to get caught by Pavlik because he is the much sharper technical fighter. Punches are very straight and he has the style to make you miss.

Green will beat Miranda. I am going to put money down on that. I am 100% sure.

Pavlik maybe by KO,hes a good boxer,good defence,and he can control a guy like Miranda with his jab,id say there powers equal,they both can put u 2 sleep,only 3 people have went the distance with each of them

the reason i think Pavlik will win is,he can brawl,if it dont work,he can go back on the backfoot and use the jab and right hand
As for Miranda,i dont think he can change his style,if his power dont work for him and he cant find the target,i cant see him switching it up,Pavliks defence is better den Miranda too so id go with Pavlik by KO or UD

Either way i like both guys,theyve got guts,the middleweight division is back,people like Taylor Pavlik Miranda and Duddy/Green can make boxing more special now,especially Pavlik and Miranda
