    Mads Larsen

Mads Larsen has signed a contract with Sauerland and says himself that he is ready to fight in March/April.

Ulli Wegner will be his trainer.

Larsen in perfect shape would definately be a favorite against the winner of Stieglitz-Berrio.

Yes Larsen should be able to take the IBF belt after 1 or 2 fights but i doubt he will be able to take Kessler or Calzaghe. I think he is a nice addition to SMW and i'm glad to see him back again and i hope that this time around he will get the title shot he deserves.

Let's see if he ever gets that far... I could see him having some problems working with a former East German trainer like Wegner.

I have seen almost all his fights, and im no fan. Sure he has punch and a good chin, but appart from that he's onesided.. He wasn't robbed against Ottke.

I used to enjoy Larsen's fights a lot (even if you've got a point he was somewhat one-dimensional.
I dissagree he wasn't robbed against Ottke. It' wasn't blatant robbery as Larsen didn't do as much as he should have. But Ottke did feck all (except run backwards) in that fight. So despite Ottke being the defending champ the only fair ruling would have been a Larsen win.
Oh well. That wasn't to be.

As for Larsen's future i'm sceptical. He was IMO never the talent Kessler is and he's lost what should have been his best years in inactivity.
He might still be able to make the division top-5. But it's very uncertain.
Kessler and Calzaghe is beyond his ability regardless.
