I just can't understand why he is fighting club fighters in 4-round fights for a year and then moves on to ... more club fighters. I understand that he was severely punished and knocked down twice in his fight with Jirov but it's been a long time since then, if he didn't get over it until now, I don't think he ever will.
He's taking the George Foreman/Shannon Briggs approach in his comeback; hopefully, depending on the outcome on his next fight, he'll step-up his level of competition for his next fight.
Rahman did this alson in his first comeback attempt, after the Holyfield fight.
The ONLy reason that this fight is even taking place is becasue Rahman was supposed to be on the main event. This would have led to a Mesi Rahman fight in the near future. (Mesi beat him in the amatures)
Rahman pulled out to fight Sam in Europe, which was smart on his part and Mesi is left to fight this guy.
Look for Mesi to sign with Top Rank after this fight, his promotial team right now is just not getting it done for him.
I don;t want people to get me wrong here, I am a Mesi fan but he needs to start to prove something. After his KO of Williamson and win over Barrett things were looking good but he has not displayed his power on this recent comeback attempt.
I also forgot to mention. Prior to the Jirov fight he signed a four fight deal with HBO and they said that they will alow him back on the air to honor that contract when he is "ready."
I imagine that is he stays active we could see him on an undercard on HBO by the end of the year.

Don't you think he is way overdue to step up the level of competition? I mean, he fought an 8-round fight as his first fight after he made a comeback, then a 6-round fight, then went to fight 2 4-rounders. I think he is "coming back" in a wrong direction.
