What Hatton said about Cotto (after Phillips fight)

"I'm a Miguel Cotto fan. He's probably my favourite current fighter, alongside Gatti and Ward.

"I see him as my future rival, when he comes through. So I'm keeping tabs on him and we're already working on things in the gym to conquer him when that times comes."

That was when asked about Cotto at the post-fight presser following the Vince Phillips fight (also saying it'd be a "dream come true" if he could fight the winner of Gatti-Ward III and it'd be a "breakthrough fight" to America).

    Interesting.

If they do fight, it's Cotto by way of murder.

While Cotto should be the slight favorite right now, I don't see this being all that obvious.

Cotto said the same thing on a short documentery thing i watched on him, he said the fight he wants most is Ricky Hatton and he knows how to beat him and that he respected him.
Im a Huge fan of both but cum on fellas Cotto would beat Ricky ****less,
No doubt in my mind what so ever! The guy has it all! (Including a chin!)

I'm convinced Cotto would obliterate Hatton. Cotto is getting better as he steps up the opposition while Hatton appears to be struggling with as his competition gets better. It's like he stepped it up for the Tszyu fight but can't do it since. Of course he is winning, he's just not looking impressive doing it. Cotto, on the other hand, impresses me more every time out.

One thing that impresses me about Cotto is that he stops almost everyone aswell! The kid is officially on my P4P List and high!

I see Cotto doing what Urango did in the fifth round, but for the WHOLE FIGHT- or as long as it lasts.

Hatton vs Cotto is yet another of those very interesting battles around that weight.

I'd favour Hatton just off personal preference, but it could easily go either way. Each could quite likely knock out the other comfortably and early, but anyone who considers that to be a forgone conclusion one way or the other dont have a particularly realistic view of the fight. On paper, its very close.
