Whoa pernell as a trainer, good news, wouldnt it be funny if he trained more boxers than ended up encountering roger mayweather who doesnt mind jumping in the ring and fighting other boxers and trainers, whitaker v.s r. mayweather 2 we all remember what happened last time lol.

This is the best thing that could've happened to Yankello. Brock's father Clavance wouldn't shut the **** up in the c****er and tried to control everything. If Calvance was out of the picture, Yankello could've done a lot better with Brock, but hey Brock and his father are about to find the exact same problem wherever they go. The problem is Calvin isn't as good as they think, and Calvance is more annoying than Lederman's voice.

How can this be good news if Pernell's training abilities are really unknown at this point? Just because he was a great fighters does not mean Sweet Pea will be a great trainer.

I wonder if Whitaker is going to try to introduce more speed and defense into Brock, which is weird since it would be hard to translate that style into a heavyweight, at least todays heavyweights.

Brock is one of my favorite of todays heavyweights, I wish him luck with working with Whitaker. Like you all said though, don't how Whitaker would do as a trainer, but his experience should help Brock well.

This is great news. Defence is somthing Brock needed against Klitchko and with some new moves. I think Whitiker will make a great trainer, as long as he trains the boxer for improvment and not to fight in his style if its not teh fighters style.

Brock is a success story. Not matter what he does imo, he's already gone a long ways. I remember nobody, nobody gave him a chance to even be contender status when he turned pro or just before he turned pro. They thought he would just fade away by loseing in the pros. But he has a good run and wish him and Whitiker luck in there next run to the title.

Let's see Whitaker pull his pants down again LOL

I don't know how effective a trainer Whitaker can be, he is still dealing with substance abuse issues actively.
