Holyfield Drops Murad, Signs With Main Events

It didn't take long for the four-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield (40-8-2, 26 KOs) to drop promoter Murad Muhammad of M&M Sports, and sign up with the company that started his career, New Jersey based Main Events. [details]

Guess the Duvas smelled some money potential radiating from the shot champ's recent victory and the current quagmire of the heavyweight division and the perceived weakness of it's titleholders.

Can somebody cue up "Movin' On Up", the theme song from the Jeffersons?

I'm curious to see who Evander's next opponent will be... I suspect that Evander's people want an opponent who's got some creditability but is not a huge risk. Opponents such as Brian Minto, Dom Guinn, or even Mike Mollo come to mind.

Murad got exposed to the max.

****, no wonder I haven't seen his name in the limelight for so long. The last time I've heard of him is him promising Jerry Penaloza a fight in the U.S. which never materialized. The poor guy has to train hard away from his family only to comeback home empty handed.

As to Holyfield, I hope he just hang 'em up. I don't want to see him get hurt seriously to the point of being incapacitated. DAMN he won't last with the younger fighters of todays era. He had his best days.
