Hatton: "I've always had that in my armoury"

"You don't survive around the gyms of Manchester, sparring pro's when your 15 years old if all you do is maraud - you get the **** knocked out of you!

"I'm not being funny or anything but I won 76 out of 80 amateur fights. Don't get me wrong, I'm a natural pressure fighter and a natural body puncher. But you don't get a record like that without being able to box abit.

"I mean I out-pointed the best Cuban's, Russian's and Bulgarian's in their own backyards at junior level. If me marauding wasn't working, I'd dig into me toolbox and use more feints and move in and out more.

"So I've always had this sort of stuff in me armoury, really. It certainly wasn't me best performance (against Urango), it was a sloppy performance by Ricky Hatton's standards but the (10 oz) gloves didn't help and I probably subconsciously took me foot off the gas as well. But I'm me own worst critic.

"Realistically, I've only had one poor performance in me life and we all know what one that was (Carlos Vilches) and the circumstances surrounding it (Frank Warren forced Hatton to take the fight at five weeks notice out of spite for him publicly questioning Warren's ability to land him big fights). If you didn't enjoy me last two fights, you need your head tested."

"Certainly, the fight with Freddie Pendleton showed me technical skill. I feel I out-boxed the boxer against Ray Oliveira, and out-boxed a counter-puncher in Eamonn Magee. And then obviously (Ben) Tackie and this one (Urango)."

    That's abit harsh.

    Ricky always has an excuse.
This was a fight he was suppose to win in an impressive fashion.
He was suppose to Mausa this guy. He looked like ****. So from now on I will call him ****man.
