Toney at #9 in Heavyweight Division

ESPN Top Ten Heavyweights in January

    1. Wladimir Klitschko (47-3)
    2. Samuel Peter (28-1)
    3. Oleg Maskaev (34-5)
    4. Nikolai Valuev (45-0)
    5. Shannon Briggs (48-4-1)
    6. Sergei Liakhovich (23-2)
    7. Lamon Brewster (33-3)
    8. Hasim Rahman (41-6-2)
    9. James Toney (69-6-3)
    10. Chris Byrd (39-3-1)

Who do you think in the top ten that would be a good matchup for James Toney? seriously. Because most of the post I read after the fight completely bashed James Toney. I did predict him to win but obviously I was wrong. Anyway I think he is still one of the most talented in the division. What should be his next move??? I really wnat to see him fight maybe a Chris Byrd. The only problem with the last Peter fight was the speed some of the other heavies are a lot slower so I think James can still beat some of them.

Really no one ranked ahead of him, other than maybe Maskaev, is a good matchup for him. (except Briggs for the moment, as this is a horrendous fight)

There is no reason for him to continue to try to become a heavyweight champ.

Its ridiculous for him to fight at heavyweight. He should be a cruiserweight at least. Just loves eating and dont do no roadwork.
If Ricky Hatton was as lazy as him, Hatton would be fighting at middleweight. Its the same thing. It depends what Toney wants in boxing now. Its not to prove hes the best heavyweight. Becoz he aint.
He just wants to keep active and keep his weight down and that is the only reason to box, as well as make some money.

For me he should be higher than Briggs, Maskaev, Rahman, Liakohovich and Probably Brewster! He is on the slide but he still even all theses years, fights and pounds later is better than the fighters i mentioned

i do agree that if there was an option for him at this point, it'd be to try maybe at cruiserweight.. but what a challenge
