A recent film depicted Max Baer as a monster. In reality, Max Baer was one of our nation's beloved boxers, an infectious personality and a warm human being.

Taken from his website....haha I wondered about his portrayal in that movie. That could give someone a bad impression of him easily.

              No.

They did it to have a good vs. evil element.

Baer was a popular fighter in his time. Even did a couple of major movies...

no, he wasn't a bad guy. he was the kind of guy that has sex in his dressing room before a fight. he was sort of a movie star at one time. i have seen many, many old boxing books where the pictures of baer always show him smiling and laughing. i think he loved to have fun, especially with women

Like everyone else has said, he was a great guy and really fun and the way Cinderella man depicted him being an evil man and literally calling him a murderer was out of order.

He spiralled into depression after Frankie Campbell and Ernie Schaaf died from ring injuries after he fought them and lost the desire to fight.
