Lets face it, america is the home of modern boxing whether we like it or not.
Is that right?
Maybe you chaps should stop using a slight adaptation of the Marquess of Queensbury Rules then. You could try coming up with something a little more American. The Burger King Rules perhaps where you have to chomp on a whopper in-between rounds and whoever finishes it first gets a free punch at his opponent.
America may be where the big bouts are, but its a pretty multi-cultural sport. America dont dominate many of the big categories at the moment. Boxing is more evenly spread right now between America, Mexico, Britain and many of the former Soviet countries than it has been for years and years.
I think that he means as far as fighting styles. Most Brit fighter were still using the flat footed, straight standing, european style up until very recently. Now they are using a little more flashy moves and using speed and elusiveness. Which came from past American fighters .............All the Mexican ect fighters fight under american promoters on HBO which is an American network .
I actually like Ricky the Hugman Hatton...I also like John Ruiz, shopping with my wife, hemmroids, heartburn,George Bush,****ing my big toe with a hammer...
you cant spell the name of the greatest fighter that ever lived properly
end of thread.
That's debatable.
Reason yanks hate British fighters is because they look at the size of our tiny island, then look at the size of their massive country, then whinge when the small portion of fighters we get go overseas and hand out a spanking.
