My thought exactly, Castillo didn't really have a clear target last night, Ngoudjo looked great, had a great defense, & was landind countershots, but they were too few & far between to say he won the fight. I don't think I could gage the Hatton fight based on his performance against Ngoudjo, 2 completely different styles.
Castillo old or is Ngoudjo just that damn good?

Yeah, I hope they do a catchweight, but I don't see it as likely. To me, Castillo looked better in the body for the 2nd Corrales fight. He weighed around 139 for that fight also. This leads me to believe that Castillo perhaps did not train as hard for Herman as he did for Diego. If that is the case, then Castillo should be fine at 140 for Hatton because presumably he will take his training up another level.i just think his mind is tryin to tell him things his body might not be able to do, he looked abit skeleton like at the weigh-in his cheekbones etc i think he should **** the hatton fight and either ask for a catchweight or go to 147
Undoubtedly, Castillo is past his best but still very good. He stayed at 135 too long and perhaps that will have shortened his career. That makes me very sad and I hope he can just be as good as he was for the Corrales rematch when it comes time to face Hatton.Comment

Njodou was more elusive than Corrales but aside from that when Castillo threw his punches they didn't look as if it had his usual speed and pop to it. Like I said earlier Castillo has traditionally been very technically good inside with upperbody and head movement and his head placement but I just didn't see any of that. His work rate also seemed lacking.
Also note that coming up to a more natural weight should've increased Castillo's hand speed and snap of punches (although they might have less affect against fighters at a higher weight).Comment

Castillo didn't really come up in weight. He weighed the same thing for his last 3 weigh ins. Castillo's head movement and snap was solid, but not as good as it used to be. To say he didn't show any of those moves is taking it too far.Comment

Look dudes, people forget that Castillo even literally kills himself to make 140...He got down to as low as 138 I believe against Corrales. Castillo is weight drained as hell also at 140 which is why he was wobbled.
And Ngoudjo's ear muff, high guard style troubles anyone. Ngoudjo is not very good against punchers which Castillo is NOT at 140. Castillo looked OK, I thought he took the fight, it was close but it will be great to see Castillo - Hatton.Comment

I'm not saying he didn't show any, I'm saying he didn't show his usual level of it.Comment

I was very impressed with Ngo and will be keeping an eye on him but I think it was a mix of Casti being old as well as how good Ngo is .Comment
