How hard does Pacquiao punch?

One of his sparring partners said that he punches like a middleweight. (do you think hes exagerating?)

One of the HBO commentators (forgot which one) says that he punches so hard that he goes out of position.


I'm new to the sport and I want to know from other more experienced boxing fans how you would compare Pacs punches to punches of higher weight classes.

Do any of you guys have comparisons? This could be very crucial if Pac wants to move up a weight class.

and he not only punches with such force that he takes himself out of position

I could imagine that the elite punchers in each division would probably punch as hard as fighters in higher weightclasses. I could imagine Manny probably could punch as hard as a few middleweights, same as Juarez, Valero, etc. Not every middleweight punches like Edison Miranda. Pac prolly punches harder than cory spinks who is a who is also in a higher weight class. So it is possible.
