As with most things the truth lies in between the moron bashers and the girlish cheerleaders.

Hattons easily destroyed him in the first 4 rounds and showed impressive boxing skills. Or did everyone miss the first 4 rounds? After the round where he hurt he changed tactics and as the fight progressed he had an easy lead.

so then for whatever reason he started clinching a lot and riding out the decision. Up until the last 2-3 rounds it was not excessive. So you can call him Ruiz all you want, fair enough but you can't discount the first four rounds where he looked NOTHING LIKE RUIZ at all.

How many Hatton fights have you seen then?

My father whose been watching boxing since it was aired on black and white TVs came over to me and said, what an ugly fight. When he says that(it doesn't happen often), you know the fight was garbage. **** I don't even like my father though he knows quality fights when it comes down to it and obviously that fight had to piss him off to say that. Ricky

Hatton put on a good performance.

Flip the coin and have a look at PBF's dirty tactics that are in some of his highlight videos! Elbowing people in the face, making boring PPV fights against Carlos Baldomir and all the rest of it and yet still Ricky gets hated on when he made a more interesting fight than the PBF-Baldomir fight that got little hate.

the baldomir fight was still a masterful boxing display, he schooled the welterweight champion of the world for 6 rounds, then did it for another 6 rounds with a injured right hand, hatton clinched and spoiled against a crap fighter who aint even a top 10 jww

I agree with what you said. The thing is, though, Ricky usually clinches after he goes on the offensive, stopping any possible attempts by his opponents to counterpunch and fight back. This is where his clinching is different from say Wlad who clinches when he is on the backfoot or his opponent is inside.

Yes...Ricky 'the Hugman' Hatton is skilled at doing John Ruiz impressions.

In fact they should fight each other...I make that a pick em fight...make that a hug em fight.
